    Several years ago, Sarasota voters passed a referendum limiting elected County officials to 2 terms.

    In November 2011, the Sarasota County Commission voted for an amending referendum, placing it on

on the 31 January 2012 ballot, It would basically change this limit to 3 terms.

    The Sarasota County Republicans voted to oppose this proposal, as expressed in the video below:

    Sarasota CC also opposes such a proposed referendum, which would attempt to change the clearly

voiced desires of the electorate.
