Federal Health Care proposals · Public option (dramatic expansion of Federal gvt.)Dear _____________________ I am deeply troubled that Congress is considering the so-called “Public Option” to medical proposals that would, in effect, place the Federal government in virtual charge of the nation’s healthcare. I see this as a totally unwarranted expansion of Federal power and, accordingly, a reduction in the freedom enjoyed by Americans. America can ill afford the staggering increased costs that would come with such a takeover. Our economy is reeling from overspending and this monumental increase would be extremely detrimental. There are, admittedly, necessary improvements needed with our nation’s healthcare, but placing the bloated Federal bureaucracy in charge is not the answer. I urge you to oppose the “Public Option” and any other measures that would lead to it. Yours truly, Name & Address ========================================================================== · HealthCare for illegal aliens Dear _____________________ I am deeply troubled that Congress is considering healthcare for illegal aliens. I believe this is a seriously flawed idea. 1. The healthcare system is already stretched thin for eligible Americans. Such an expansion would result in reduced services and be a further enticement for illegal aliens to flood America, further eroding available American jobs. 2. The increased cost would be unacceptable in a faltering economy. Taxes are paid by hard-working Americans to support America, not for coverage of illegal aliens. 3. There is something just plain wrong, in principle, with providing unearned tax benefits to illegal aliens who should not be in this country. There are, admittedly, necessary improvements needed with our nation’s immigration policy and enforcement, but placing the bloated Federal bureaucracy in charge expanding their heath care is not the answer. I urge you to oppose heath care for illegal aliens and any other measures that would lead to it. Yours truly, Name & Address ========================================================================= · Tax-payer funded abortions Dear _____________________ I am deeply troubled that Congress is considering Federal healthcare to cover the cost of abortions. I believe this is a seriously flawed idea and should be strongly rejected. 1. There are serious moral and Biblical objections to the taking of a baby’s life – called abortion. This is probably the most volatile moral issue in America today; for our representative government to force it down people’s throats would be a genuine and ugly abomination. 2. Recent polls indicate that the majority of Americans, seeing the carnage that abortions have wrought, are now opposed to abortions on demand. It should not be funded. 3. The increased cost would be unacceptable in a faltering economy. Taxes are paid by hard-working Americans to support America, not for coverage of highly questionable practices. I urge you to oppose the funding of abortions in any health care proposal and any other measures that would lead to it. Yours truly, Name & Address ======================================================================== · End-of-life issues (e.g. "Death" committees) Dear _____________________ I am deeply troubled that Congress is considering “end-of-life” proposals in their proposed legislation. These proposals would interject some form of Federal influence into the issues involved with “elderly “end-of-life” situations. I believe this is a seriously flawed idea and should be strongly rejected. 1. To the majority of Americans, human life, at all its stages, is precious. Decisions to be made as life draws to a close are left to individuals, their families and trusted religious and medical advice. There are serious moral and Biblical objections to the taking of a human life. 2. This is a serious moral issue in America today; for our representative government to force it down people’s throats would be a genuine and ugly abomination. 3. The government has enough problems to deal with satisfactorily without expanding its reach into this area. This would be a serious reduction in the freedoms enjoyed by the American people and be viewed as a form of federal tyranny, intruding into the private affairs of the American people. I urge you to oppose any form of Federal intervention, indirect or otherwise, into “end-of-life issues. Yours truly, Name & Address ========================================================================== * Need for Tort Reform (opposed by trial lawyers) Dear _____________________ I am deeply troubled that Congress is not considering legislation that would reduce the impact of trial lawyers in health care costs. The exorbitant insurance costs paid by doctors today significantly drives up health care costs. It would seem appropriate to formulate legislation that would both protect patients and preclude the reckless settlements now driven by greedy trial lawyers. This appears to be a direct and reasonable change that is needed in health care to help correct ballooning costs. It has even driven good doctors out of the practice of medicine. It is unconscionable that trial lawyers should be a “protected class” and not be subject to reasonable limitations. Our American health care system would benefit significantly from such legislation. Yours truly, Name & Address ======================================================================== * OBJECTION TO PLANNED PARENTHOOD CLINICS IN PUBLIC SCHOOLSDear __________________ There are many reasons I urge you to oppose the Health Care Bill (HR ======================================================================== * SHOW US THE BILL Dear _______
I am appalled that Senate Majority Leader Harry
Reid is using legislative trickery to expedite his own version of the ObamaCare
health care reform plan without allowing opportunity for public debate and
scrutiny. Silencing debate in a democratic society is always wrong! * RALPH REED, FAITH AND FREEDOM, SUGGESTED LETTER Dear _________ I demand that you actively OPPOSE and vote “NO” on President Obama’s Government-Run Health Care Plan. It’s clear that countries with government health care systems see:
· Massive shortages of doctors and nurses. · Waiting lists for medical treatments that are routine here in the U.S. · An end to research and development into new lifesaving medicines and treatments · Decaying medical facilities · Health Care Rationing Boards, which deny care to the elderly and very sick as a way to save costs.
In addition, most experts say Obamacare will include:
· Forcing pro-life doctors to perform abortions (even partial-birth abortions) against their conscience. · Requiring taxpayers to pay for health care for illegal aliens. · Massive cuts in Medicare to pay for Obamacare. · Adding TRILLIONS more dollars to the National Debt. · Massive tax increases to pay for Obamacare.
I don’t want government bureaucrats deciding whether I get medical care or not, or even whether I live or die. It’s time for Congress to declare “Obamacare” dead-on-arrival (DOA) and to start over on a new plan that’s consistent with liberty. I will be watching your actions and your vote on this issue of urgent importance to the life and liberty of all Americans.
Sincerely, _______________
