Christian
Coalition of Sarasota County, as chartered by the
Florida
Christian Coalition, exists to give pro-life, pro-family
citizens a concerted voice in government and the community
through
information and action. We have monthly meetings
with government leaders
as speakers, we conduct candidate
forums before elections, and
distribute CC Voter Guides that
define candidates' positions on
pertinent issues.
We also provide churches and
others with issues - news
from a Christian perspective and help them
conduct voter
registration drives.
We also stand against anti-Christian
bias in the media and the culture. And, we encourage and assist in
communicating with our elected officials on key moral issues.
VOTER REGISTRATION It has been reported that only about 50 % of
church members are registered to vote. Further, only about 50 % of those registered actually vote!
For example, in the 2006 Primary Election, only about 25 %
of the registered voters in Sarasota County actually voted! That is appalling since, if most of us voted, we
would be a powerful force for righteousness in our land.
IT IS RECOMMENDED THAT
CHURCHES CONDUCT VOTER REGISTRATION DRIVES. See
the Link to the left. Voters must be registered to vote 29 days before
November 2nd election.
The latest FL Legislative Scorecard
, prepared by Florida Christian Coalition, may be found under
"CC Voter Guides", left.
2011 Federal voting records (scorecards),
prepared by Christian Coalition, may also be found under "CC Voter Guides",

The Faith and Freedom Coalition of Florida

The CC of Florida Board
unanimously voted, on September 26th, to form the newest FFC state
affiliate, the Faith and Freedom Coalition of
Florida. We will maintain the Florida Christian
Coalition, and Chapters, and also be a Florida affiliate of FFC. The vote took place after board members met
with FFC Chairman Ralph Reed who later addressed the
20th Anniversary Christian Coalition of Florida
Banquet.
